Application field of polyvinyl alcohol powder 2488

2488 polyvinyl alcohol powder is a white, powdery, stable, non-toxic water-soluble polymer. Water is a good solvent for polyvinyl alcohol and the only solvent. Polyvinyl alcohol has good film forming properties, and the formed film has excellent adhesion, solvent resistance, abrasion resistance, tensile strength and oxygen barrier property. Since polyvinyl alcohol has both a hydrophilic group and a hydrophobic group, it is an interfacial substance, so polyvinyl alcohol can be used as a protective colloid in polymer emulsification and suspension polymerization. 2488 powder is widely used in dry mortar industry because of its solubility in water at room temperature, flexibility, water retention, good adhesion, etc. PVA powder is not only used for dry powder putty, cement mortar, but also with redispersible latex powder. It is used in mortars for exterior insulation.

Indicators and uses

Polyvinyl alcohol is a water-soluble and environment-friendly polymer, non-toxic and non-polluting, with good film forming properties, emulsifying properties, bonding properties and spinning properties. It forms a film with excellent adhesion, solvent resistance, abrasion resistance, tensile strength and oxygen barrier properties. Since polyvinyl alcohol has both hydrophilic groups and hydrophobic groups, it has an interfacial activity. Therefore, polyvinyl alcohol can be used as a protective colloid for emulsification of polymers and suspension polymerization.

Application

1. Warp yarn slurry. Made of warp yarn or fabric finish

2. Paper processing. PVA has high adhesion and is strong in film formation. It can be used as a coated paper vehicle or as a glue for coated paper, wear-resistant paper, base paper, kraft paper, etc. Surface sizing can improve the abrasion resistance, folding resistance and tear strength of the paper, and improve gloss, smoothness and printing adaptability.

3. Adhesive. A series of adhesives made of PVA as the main raw material have good adhesion to paper, cloth and wood. Some inorganic substances such as clay, bentonite, alumina, titanium oxide, etc. can be added to increase the bonding strength.

4. film. The film made of PVA has good transparency, high tensile strength, high crack resistance, good moisture permeability, good heat insulation, oil resistance, organic resistance, and no static electricity, so it is used in textile packaging and food packaging.

5. Acetalized derivative. In the presence of PVA and formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, butyraldehyde or other aldehydes or acid catalysts, acetalized PVA derivatives are formed, which further improves the water resistance and adhesion of the polyvinyl alcohol.

6. Fiber raw materials. PVA is washed, dissolved, spun, and treated with formalin. PVA can also be used to develop high-strength and high-modulus PVA fibers to replace asbestos.

7. Dry mortar. PVA has good film-forming properties. It is used in combination with cellulose ether water-retaining agents. It can improve the flexibility and water retention of cement mortar and gypsum building materials and improve the adhesion of mortar.
